CHALLENGING BLACK AND WHITE THINKING IN AGRICULTURE
CHALLENGING BLACK AND WHITE THINKING IN AGRICULTURE
Born and raised on a beef & sheep farm in North Yorkshire, Amy has spent the last 16 years working in Agricultural extension and education. Inspired by her Grandad Ken and Dad, John (pictured left), she gets out of bed in the morning to help British farmers thrive through the design, development and delivery of National knowledge exchange programmes.
Following the birth of her second son, she struggled with postnatal depression and anxiety, and has since developed a huge interest in human psychology, behaviour change and mindset.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Science and Production Systems, a Post Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Livestock Production, is a mental health first aider and co-hosts a podcast called 'Think Outside The Fence' where she and her co-host, Arron Nerbas, interview people from all over the world who are doing things a little bit differently in agriculture. She has spoken at international conferences and on panel sessions as well as writing multiple articles, blogs and opinion pieces for national farming press and other industry organisations.
Amy has been in the running for multiple industry awards, including;
- Meat Business Women 'One to Watch' award
- Women in Meat 'Training and Education' award
- National Women in Agriculture 'Training and Education Woman of the Year' award
